Sao Paulo Forum Chavez recognizes importance of that organization Managua, May 20. - Within the framework of the XVII Meeting of the Forum of Sao Paulo (FSP) held today in Nicaragua, South Radio did an interview with the Secretary General of the organization, Walter Pomar (1), who recognized that the electoral victory of Hugo Chavez in 1998 catapulted the potential of the FSP. The Brazilian Walter Pomar said the Sao Paulo Forum has had two great historical moments: the first was the beginning of "resistance against neoliberalism" and the second time was great "in 98 with the election of Hugo Chavez." Pomar recently admitted that the left suffered a setback in the region, because "the right still rules in countries like Mexico. Lost elections in Chile, Costa Rica, and Panama."
Pomar considers the FSP experienced a severe defeat "the coup in Honduras." He adds that "the left has to work hard to defeat the right, but hopefully the Commander Ollanta Humala wins the elections" in Peru. Hugo Chavez sent a letter of greeting to those attending the XVII Meeting of the FSP, which reads: "This new meeting of the Forum of Sao Paulo is crucial, we must establish a common strategy to deter and defeat the counterattack of the right that is to reverse the change in time." (2) The Secretary General informed the FSP South Radio that the meeting "as he had to partner Ricardo Alarcón, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the National Assembly. Had as speaker also Nicolas Maduro, the Party Socialista Unido de Venezuela (PSUV) and Comrade Daniel Ortega, Secretary National FSLN General and President of Nicaragua ".
He added that had the "participation of Caribbean countries, also a delegation from Africa, Asia and Europe, as well as an outstanding participation of the Chinese Communist Party and the Communist Party of Vietnam". Sao Paulo Forum backs Humala in Peru and reelection of Ortega in Nicaragua May 21, 2011 ND. - The Forum of Sao Paulo on Friday expressed his support for the candidacy of Ollanta Humala in Peru and the reelection of Daniel Ortega in Nicaragua. The resolution, signed on Friday from Nicaragua by over 150 representatives of leftist parties on the continent, says Ortega and the Sandinistas "overcame fear" was in Nicaragua for the return of the left in power. The resolution also rejected the eventual return to power of the "Fujimori" to Peru Alberto Fujimori and said that "one of the (political) of the twentieth century's most corrupt." more: Sao Paulo Forum Chavez recognizes importance of that organization forumers say
The next meeting of the Forum of Sao Paulo will be in 2012 in Caracas, Rodrigo Cabezas confirmed (PSUV) from Managua. This is provided Terra a note: The Sao Paulo Forum on Friday expressed its support for the president's reelection plans of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega, and the presidential candidacy of Ollanta Humala, Peru Wins alliance, after a three-day conclave in Managua. The Forum "reaffirms its support for the FSLN and Daniel Ortega in the current electoral process, having the certainty that this Nov. 6 people at the polls Nicaragua reaffirm their vote of confidence" the Sandinista party, said delegates at a Declaration.
The resolution, signed by more than 150 leaders of Left parties on the continent, says that social policies implemented by the Sandinista government in the last five years "overcame fear" was in Nicaragua for the return of the left in power. Ortega's return to the government in 2007, after the revolution who presided from 1979 to 1990, is a "victory" for the entire left hemisphere indicated. Ortega wants to be reelected in the November election against a divided right, protected by a controversial court decision of 2010, which overturned the constitutional provision prohibiting successive presidential reelection. The forum also expressed support for an eventual victory of Humala in Peru, in the second round that played with the right candidate Keiko Fujimori, on 5 June. "Humala's victory (in the first round on April 10) picked up the unrest in Peru" and the need for a "social model change" they stressed. The forum rejected the eventual return to power of a descendant of "Fujimori" in Peru, referring to Keiko Fujimori, daughter of former President Alberto Fujimori, whose government (1990-2000) "was considered one of the most corrupt countries in the twentieth century "they recalled. The Sao Paulo Forum, today concluded a three-day meeting in Managua, approved a total of 20 resolutions, among which support the formation of a Palestinian state, the end of the conflict in Colombia and then in power the Farabundo Marti Liberation Front (FMLN, left) of El Salvador. Also issued statements in favor of the reforms adopted by the Sixth Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba, the "fighting crime" in Mexico, the protest movements in Madrid and the fight against poverty in Haiti, among others.
