In Depth Zyppah Review
At DawnStudy we review snoring prevention products objectively and try to be unbiased. The facts, hands on opinion and customer reviews shapes our final analysis.
If you or your partner snores then anti-snoring mouthpieces are arguably one of the best solutions.
Most are under $100 and can be ordered directly from the manufacturer. Zyppah is one of the more expensive brands.
Zyppah is Happy Z spelt backwards. I would not have known this until it was pointed out to me.
Either way, now I know this I think it is a great brand name.
Zyppah is a typical ‘boil and bite’ type mouthpiece device that allows the user to heat up the mold and place in the mouth.
When bitten it takes the exact shape of his or her mouth. It customs fits to your own teeth.
Zyppah comes in just the one size and works by moving the lower jaw. It would be fair to say that it appears to be have been designed for a larger male jaw.
Some of the criticism it has faced is that it can be at times uncomfortable the smaller or female jaw.
Interesting Fact: According to one study men are twice as likely to snore as women. Which could the be the reasoning behind the Zyppah’s apparent favoring of the larger jaw and typically male) in the design build.
What is the Z-Factor – Tongue Elastic?
The official website makes references to the Z-Factor without delving too deeply into exactly what it is.
It is explained that the Z-factor is the patented Tongue Elastic (tongue strap) that stops you from snoring – other than that there is no leading link that takes you to a deeper more elaborate explanation.
In fairness though the 90 second long video does explain Dr Greenburg’s invention and philosophy in a bit more detail.
The Zyppah is the only anti-snoring product on the market that incorporates a method of keeping the tongue in place whilst bringing the jaw forward.
This achieved by the Tongue Elastic – a simple rubber band to stop your tongue from falling back. The tongue strap also enables mouth breathing.
It is claimed that Zyppah can work and help you stop snoring on the very first night you wear it. It is also claimed it is big hit with doctors and celebrities.

Although usage is straightforward there are several steps and several additional un supplied components that you will need for setting up and preparation prior to using the mouthpiece for the first time.
Step 1 – you will need in addition to your Zyppah stop snoring device: Some water, a microwavable container, some food tongs, a timer, a hand held mirror and some tissue paper.
Step 2 – Heat the water so it is very hot but not boiling. Then poor the hot water into the microwavable container.
Step 3 – Place the mouthpiece in the hot water and let soak for 30 to 45 seconds. Keep the device immersed by using the tongs.

Can You Expect Any Discomfort or Side Effects?
An issue that seems to be common is that Zyppah is designed is to fit larger jaws. Some women have noted that the mouthpiece is uncomfortable.
Some users may experience some discomfort initially but this is a feature of all snoring devices. The tongue strap may take getting used to for some users.
Maintenance Requirements & Longevity of the Product
