Steve Areen, who was previously a flight attendant for Delta Airlines, had built his own dome home on an organic mango farm in Northeastern Thailand. At first, he created a perfect sphere using a revolving arm technique, and then built his little Dome House using locally made bricks. In fact, his in-law's brother had inspired him with some ideas on this project. Amazingly, with a couple of helpers, he constructed his tiny home in just six weeks. He spent $8,000 in building is glorious tiny home.
Once the main building was complete, Steve with his own hands fixed other inclusions of the home, which includes doors, screens, shelves, a pond and a gazebo, stonework and landscaping -however, materials sourced within the direct vicinity.
Electricity from conventional sources illuminates the house and heats up the water. The cutouts in the roof allow naturally cooling of the home and permits light during the day.
On the other hand, beautiful grass roof covers the bedroom dome. Plants kept inside the bathroom transforms the bathroom into a patio and finished with slight touches such as a bamboo faucet that funnels water into a beautiful bowl - like cupped Buddha hands.
The terracotta paint tangles fabulously with the abundant tropical fauna, while small ponds add even greater serenity to the site and design.
This is Steve's first Dome House. However, the experience has inspired him to assist others achieve something similar, so at present, he is hunting for a property in Oregon with a group of people so that he can build another-except for the next one, Steve will use earthen bricks instead.
