Peruvian president and ministers discuss impact of Paris terrorist attack in Latin America and Peru
The head of State will leave tomorrow to participate in APEC Summit in Philippines
Peruvian President Ollanta Humala on Saturday met with Premier Pedro Cateriano, Foreign Minister Ana María Sánchez, Defense Minister Jake Valakivi, and Interior Minister Jose Perez Guadalupe to discuss international and security issues following the recent terrorist attacks in Paris, France.
During the meeting, the head of State and his ministers discussed the politica and economic impact that yesterday’s terrorist attack in Paris could cause in the region and Peru.
President Humala reiterated his solidarity with the French people and the government of President Francois Hollande, and he reaffirmed his categorical rejection of terrorism.
For this reason, the departure of the Peruvian president to the city of Manila, in the Philippines, to participate in the Leaders’ Summit of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC) will be held tomorrow, Sunday, November 15th.

Peruvian president meets with Bill Clinton at Government Palace in Lima
Peruvian President Ollanta Humala on Wednesday met with former U.S. President Bill Clinton, who is currently in our country as part of a Latin American tour aimed at monitoring the work undertaken by his organization regarding social development and support projects in the most vulnerable sectors of the population.
To date, Clinton has implemented 2,300 projects in 180 countries. Since 2008, he sponsored projects in Peru involving the private sector, governmental entities, local communities and NGOs. These initiatives aim to support efforts to lift people out of poverty based on job creation, income generation and the development of entrepreneurial skills.
Foreign Minister Ana Maria Sanchez and major investors including Carlos Slim and Frank Giustra also participated in the meeting.

President Humala: Central government vows to complete construction of hospital and school in Moquegua
Peruvian President Ollanta Humala on Tuesday inspected the current state of the construction of the Moquegua Regional Hospital and said the Central Government will support the quick completion of this major infrastructure project for the benefit of the local population.
The head of State, accompanied by Health Minister Anibal Velasquez and Moquegua’s Regional Governor Jaime Rodriguez, toured the facilities of the hospital and announced the upcoming delivery of ambulances to improve health services in that area of the country.
President Humala then went to the city's downtown to inaugurate a temporary shelter for victims of family violence. There, he talked to the media and a group of people.
The Peruvian leader also visited the Moquegua’s flagship educational institution Simon Bolivar and announced that the school will soon have a synthetic turf field for students.

Peruvian president meets with CPC representative Sun Chunlan
Peruvian President Ollanta Humala on Monday held a meeting with Sun Chunlan, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, at the Government Palace in Lima.
During the meeting, the Peruvian leader and the Chinese politician talked about economic cooperation mechanisms to achieve advantages and benefits in favor of both nations as part of the implementation of the National Plan for Productive Diversification.
Likewise, the head of State reaffirmed Peru’s interest in developing a more efficient process for issuing tourist and business visas with the aim of boosting greater mobility of persons between the two countries.
President Humala also ratified Peru’s efforts relating to the Peru-Brazil Bioceanic Railway Corridor, given its impact on the national development as it comprises large extensions of territory and it closes infrastructure gaps.

President Humala enacts law creating National Park in Ucayali region
Peruvian President Ollanta Humala on Sunday signed a supreme decree creating the Sierra del Divisor National Park in the native community of NuevoSaposoa, in the jungle region of Ucayali.
"Today, we fulfill a dream of respect to the Pachamama, Mother Earth and communities,” he said addressing the population of this community and noting that this government is committed to nature and the environment.
The head of State explained that this law, which has been the result of the first prior consultation process to native communities, creates an area of ecological reserve where over 300 natural species live in peace, and the lungs of the planet are strengthened as they provide fresh air for the future generations."The Sierra del Divisor National Park is unique on earth."
President Humala said the National Park is a clear and powerful message to the international community and those believing that in Peru everything can be sold. "That's why we have come today to bring a message that Peru is respected," he said.
The head of State said that Sierra del Divisor is also a message to the world living today the crossroads of global warming, because it will allow our country to reduce carbon emissions by more than 30%, a commitment taken by Peru at the conference on climate change held last year.
Finally, President Humala called on the regions of Loreto and Ucayali, involved in this nature reserve, to work together to defend our parks from illegal activities such as illegal logging, drug trafficking and others generated when the state is not present.
