Damn! A group of criminals entered by force to the Inkaterra Amazon Reserve, located in Tambopata, in Madre de Dios. The criminals took hostage 40 tourists of Chinese and American nationality, according to informers.
During the kidnapping, the criminals killed Elías León Huamaní, head of guides of the Inkaterra reserve, with a gunshot. Agents of the Tourism Police and the Dirincri confirmed the invasion and the death.
Meanwhile, THE PUNCH SOUTH AMERICA added that lifting and subsequent transfer of the body is not specified until now. Relatives of the staff of Inkaterra are in the port Capitanía desperate to receive information.
For its part, the regional governor of Madre de Dios, Luis Hidalgo Okimura, explained that the hotel is private, but is within a reserve. He explained that the incident occurred between 8:30 and 9 on Tuesday night.
It should be noted that the Government declared a state of emergency in four districts of Madre de Dios for a period of 60 days. The measure includes the districts of Tambopata, Inambari, Las Piedras and Laberinto. They seek to reduce and eliminate illegal mining.
