The US president said the "outstanding" economic growth in the last decade in meeting with Peruvian Ambassador Luis Miguel Castilla.
Barack Obama, US president, highlighted the economic growth of Peru during a meeting with Ambassador Luis Miguel Castilla, in the Oval Office of the White House. He also said that our country has become "the envy of the world".
He also stressed that Peru is a "loyal ally" of the United States on many issues, and the joint efforts of both countries in promoting democratic governance and the fight against terrorism.
"Our two countries are increasingly united by common educational experiences, tourism and family ties," Obama said.
He mentioned the prime focus of President Ollanta Humala on "one of my favorite subjects, as well as the First Lady, and consists of educational exchange."
For its part, the Peruvian diplomat said the United States is once again elprincipal Peru trading partner, displacing China to second place.
"In six years, our FTA has boosted bilateral trade and investment. However, these benefits can you expand further increasing joint projects between our SMEs, "he said.
Castilla said his administration will encourage a more active presence of US companies in the bidding process of Peru, for which it is proposed to enhance the capabilities of the Peruvian embassy and representatives of Peruvian promotion agencies accredited in the United States.
"Another of the cornerstones of our management will meet the needs and requirements of the Peruvian diaspora, promoting concrete initiatives to improve the quality of insertion in this country," added the former Minister of Economy of the current Peruvian government.
